"Our Sick Health Care System"

We Believe: Health Care is a fundamental human right. The present profit-driven health insurance industry robs us of that right. It has failed consumers and practitioners alike.  This year we are electing a new president and congress. Now is the time to raise a loud voice for quality health care for all. We are health and mental health practitioners, workers, community advocates and consumers, joined together to send a strong and insistent message that our health care system must be fixed and it is up to our elected leaders to do it now.
Our Health Care System Must be Reformed to Ensure the Following Six Principles:

  1. UNIVERSALITY - truly accessible to everyone
  2. COMPREHENSIVENESS - a full range of services to treat illness as well as to maintain physical and mental health.
  3. AFFORDABILITY - out-of-pocket expenses do not create financial barriers to care.
  4. QUALITY CARE - a uniform system of quality care for all
  5. AUTONOMY AND SAFETY IN THE PATIENT-PRACTITIONER RELATIONSHIP - preserve confidentiality, keep decision-making in the consulting room.
  6. ACCOUNTABILITY TO THE PUBLIC - health care insurers and practitioners must be fiscally and operationally responsible for their decisions and use of public resources.

Come! Exercise your "vote" to Revamp the Present Health Care System!
